Our Journey

I started this blog when my two girls and I began
taking car trips. We have been to Rhode Island, New York, Kentucky, Connecticut, South Carolina, Niagra Falls, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, even Canada! In the car we have created memories of our past and strengthened our bond for the future. I have decided to keep the blog going, not only of our travels, but to document all of the miracles, big and small, in our day-to-day lives. Some of these entries will not be in chronological order as I will enter them as I remember them!

Thanks for taking the ride with us...

Oh Crap, it's 39 degrees!

Hi all,

Well, I know it wasn't fair to not update you until so late tonight. You were all probably worried that we never made it out of the Bates motel alive. But, we did, Sophie had us up early and while I was walking the dogs, she had me all packed and ready to go.

Unfortunately, the temperature took a major dip during the night. It was 39 degrees when we woke up and they were predicting rain and snow. So, naturally, we had to move onward to find the warmth. We took a ride through the mountains before we left Gatlinburg and then took the mountain passage ways from Tennessee to North Carolina. The girls slept most of the trip. They missed a lot of the beautiful scenery.

We got little sleep last night. Aside from the fear factor, I had a splitting headache with no Advil. We stopped briefly in Asheville, North Carolina, and over breakfast got out the atlas and the iphone. We looked at proximities and then checked the weather on the iphone of each possibility. We finally decided on...... Charleston, South Carolina. And, that is where we are now! After another day of drving, we found 63 degrees with a lot of wind. We've decided to stay here a couple of days and then wind our way back home. The girls highly approve of the hotel, it's pretty and allows dogs. Tomorrow we plan to explore the historic parts of Charleston and find the beaches.

The girls are prefectly content right now, Princess Diaries II is on TV and before that, Hannah Montana.

Well, that's the update for today. We're having a good time and in good spirits, albeit tired. Only one puppy got sick in the car today, and no kids, so that was good.

Love to all....
